Units of measure

This started out as a single page, but it became unwieldy so it has been split up.

These pages are still under construction - several conversions between units of measure etc., are still missing...   We'll get there as soon as we can.

Much may be determined about a language and a people by the way that things are measured.  Do you know what an acre really is?  Or a chain?

Browse around - hopefully you'll find it useful - and even interesting.

Metrication is still a touchy issue with many people - I won't go into questions about whether or not we should go metric, but I will say that in the UK, where we have gone metric, we have done so BADLY.

No wonder some people find metrication confusing!
